Dhanteras 2026 takes place on November 7, coinciding with a dip in gold prices. This has increased demand for gold in India, with families buying a jhadu in addition to gold as per Lakshmi rules. The festival, which signifies the beginning of the Diwali shopping season, is expected to produce over Rs 1 lakh crore in business.
