US President Donald Trump has called on Ukraine to elect a new president, saying Volodymyr Zelenskyy should reach an agreement with Russia to bring the conflict to a close.
Trump also blamed Zelenskyy for increases in diesel prices in the United States, warning Kyiv to stop striking Russian oil refineries he says are set to provide American fuel.
The comments came on 10 October 2026, the same day Britain's Prime Minister spoke separately by phone with Zelenskyy, according to the UK government.
